Units assigned / Deployments: Dean completed boot camp in 2002, attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon Georgia, and earned his Parachutist badge upon completion of the Army’s Basic Airborne Course.  His 1st assignment was in the 82ndAirborne, 82nd Signal Battalion. While in division he participated in the invasion of Iraq and participated in the battles of An Nasiriyah, Fallujah, Ramadi through 2 deployments.  He provided Humanitarian relief to New Orleans and the surrounding areas following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  Dean’s next assignment was at the National Military Command Center, Army Operations within the Pentagon.  He was then transferred to Fort Lewis Washington where he deployed in 2009 – 2010 with 201st Battlefield Surveillance Brigade in support of Operation New Dawn. Upon return he was assigned to 57th Signal Battalion, 11thSignal Brigade stationed on Fort Hood Texas. During his time with the 57th Signal Battalion he deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve to Camp Manion Al Taqaddum Iraq.  Dean returned to the Carson Valley following his medical discharged in 2018.
