Our Post

VFW 8583 and other Veterans Organizations in Douglas County were on hand to receive the Proclamation for Operation Green Light from our county Commissioners. We were able to support a wonderful local non profit that supports Vets in our community. The post donated $2,100 to help to purchase much needed items and members supported with donated items such as saddles and tack. Members of our Post assisted Eastside Memorial, DCSO honor guard and Tahoe Douglas Elks raise the flag to honor Veterans prior to Veterans Day. We even had some young men come out to help! We are proud to announce the support of $250 to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard. Our support allows their dedicated team to support Veterans and Law Enforcement around our community and the state.
